Spotlight: Zombie Antics abound! Shotguns need not apply Kurt Sasso Comics, News, spotlight I originally heard about Zombie Roomie when I got an email for it’s creator John Wiger asking if it was ok to post a TGT Image in his comic. Of course I was flattered and he posted it. Since then I have followed this hilarious series from start to it’s current chapter no less than three times and no more than infinity. Normally, I’m not one to be into Zombie related comics as I’m not a horror fan by any stretch of the imagination. Luckily Zombie Roomie isn’t like that at all. Sure, it pokes fun at the zombie culture and one of the main characters just happens to be a Living Dead zombie named George and all of his natural tendencies eating cereal of Orphan O’s; Playing cards with Jack the Wolfman, Vlad the Vampire, Francis Nathan Stein and Jamal the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Glenda the Witch. Betting the bodily fluids (blood) of his roommate John… You know typical Zombie behaviour in the real world. The art style is nice and clean with distinctive and lovable characters, like George and John with a ton of supporting characters and while the strip focuses on George and John it does seamlessly bring in the supporting characters without a hitch. The writing of this comic combined with the art is just wonderful and humourous as well. The characters interact well with each other and the dialog flows really well. While there isn’t a long format story line planned out, it really doesn’t need one as the mini-stories you get as you read really get into them. The bonus to reading Zombie Roomie is the massive amounts of influences that John gets in the form of geekgasm from Star Wars to Star Trek, movie references galore (George Romero, Horror film serial killers and then some), even the occasional Twil… I mean Sundown reference. The Website design is a WordPress / Comicpress with a customized setup by John himself and it’s a nice clean and consistent design. The site is setup for everyone to find what they are looking for. http://www.zombieroomie.com All in all a great comedic read that tugs at your heart, livers and kidney’s. You’ll become one of the Shambler’s Local 1968 in no time just by reading this comic. Look for John Wigger on TGT Halloween week.
